Cirleen DeBlaere has been selected as the Director of Faculty Development in the Office of Faculty Affairs, effective July 10, 2023.
Dr. DeBlaere currently serves as a Senior Faculty Associate for Mentoring in the Graduate School as well as the Faculty Associate for Professional Development in the Office of Faculty Affairs. In these positions, she has been responsible for the oversight of mentoring programs, writing accountability groups, and workshops in support of faculty development and success.
Dr. DeBlaere was recently promoted to the rank of professor in the College of Education and Human Development and has served as Program Coordinator for the Counseling Psychology Ph.D. program since 2018. She is a highly productive scholar with more than 90 peer-reviewed publications, two coauthored books, more than 100 presentations at national and international conferences, and multiple invited keynote addresses.
In addition, Dr. DeBlaere has garnered more than $8 million in foundation and federal funding, has held multiple leadership roles in national organizations, and has taught and mentored students who have excelled and won awards, fellowships, and grants in psychology. She is also a Fellow of the American Psychological Association.
Dr. DeBlaere earned her doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Florida and her master’s degree in General Psychology from New York University.
