Dr. Beth Myers has been named Assistant Provost for Faculty Success in the Office of Faculty Affairs, effective Jan. 6, 2025.
In her new role, Dr. Myers will manage faculty leadership development programs, oversee continuous improvement of faculty policies, and collaborate with academic units to advance professional development initiatives that align with Georgia State’s strategic goals. Her extensive experience will enhance efforts to support faculty across the university through customized development programs and ongoing mentorship.
Dr. Myers earned her Ph.D. in Consumer Affairs from Auburn University and most recently served as Chair of the School of Human Ecology at Georgia Southern University. She is highly regarded for her innovative leadership and commitment to inclusive, evidence-based policies that support faculty growth and success.
Her commitment to leadership development was recognized as she was selected to represent Georgia Southern as a Scholar in the University System of Georgia’s Executive Leadership Institute for the 2023-2024 academic year, and she received the 2023 Georgia Southern University Award of Excellence in Leadership.
Dr. Myers’ academic field of interest is the social responsibility and sustainability of the clothing and textile industry. She studies fashion advertisements with social and political messages, cause-related marketing campaigns, and clothing and textiles within the wellness industry. She holds an academic appointment as an Associate Professor in the Ernest G. Welch School of Art and Design at Georgia State’s College of the Arts.
