Faculty Handbook
The Georgia State University Faculty Handbook provides new and continuing faculty members ready access to two important kinds of information: 1) general information about the policies and procedures that impact faculty, and 2) resources to support faculty. Please note that the Faculty Handbook does not index all policies affecting faculty; there are other important policies and procedures specific to the University’s colleges, schools, departments, and other units that should be consulted as the need arises. This Faculty Handbook is not intended to create a contract between Georgia State University and its Faculty or to set forth terms and conditions of employment, but all faculty are responsible for complying with any and all Georgia State University policies.

The Faculty Grievance Policy exists to provide a fair and equitable process to resolve faculty grievances for alleged violations of University policy, procedure or established practice. Access the latest version of this policy through GSU PolicyStat (use your campus ID and password).
Family Leave at Georgia State: A Faculty Guide
In the course of their employment at Georgia State University, faculty members may need to take time off from work due to family events such as the birth of a child, adoption, or to take care of a family member. This document provides the different options available to faculty to arrange for such leave. We strongly encourage faculty members to discuss these options with their unit head in advance of the event (if possible) or initiating a request.
Georgia State Policy Library: Up-to-Date University Policies via PolicyStat
The Georgia State Policy Library contains GSU’s university-wide policies. The information includes policy statements, the approval and effective dates, what body approved the policy, what office implements and manages the policy (referred to as the Responsible Office) and what members of the community are impacted by the policy. In most cases, the library does not include procedures related to the policies.
Instead of static PDF documents, this system is dynamic and is updated as new policies are enacted.
Please Note: The Georgia State Policy Library does not contain college, division, or departmental policies, nor does it include student admission policies or standards. For information on policies implemented by a specific college, school, division or department, please check their respective web pages.
