Dana Brown is the university’s Faculty Information Systems Manager in the Office of Faculty Affairs and a Staff Council representative. She is responsible for university-level management for all faculty-specific software and provides training to colleges and departments.
Dana joined Georgia State University in 1997 as a student assistant in the Office of Financial Aid and was hired as a Records Coordinator II while earning her Bachelor of Science in Biology (major) and Chemistry (minor). As a geology graduate student with a research interest in micropaleontology and climate change, she worked as a Graduate Fellow and Lab Coordinator for the Bio-Bus program. During her graduate enrollment and Bio-Bus tenure, Dana taught, presented at local, regional, and national science conferences, implemented science modules in the K-12 education environment, and led teacher workshops.
Dana’s previous employment with the College of Law and Perimeter College helped her gain experience with the faculty life cycle, hiring, promotion, tenure, and managing applicant tracking systems.
