The Academic Leadership Institute (ALI) at Georgia State University is a formal initiative designed to cultivate leadership excellence among faculty and other academic and administrative personnel. The Institute serves as a hub for leadership development in the Office of Faculty Affairs by offering training, mentoring, and professional learning opportunities focused on academic governance, strategic planning, belonging, institutional management, and innovation.
By fostering a culture of continuous improvement, the Academic Leadership Institute contributes to the university's mission of transforming lives, strengthening the workforce, and addressing complex challenges within higher education.
KEY FUNCTIONS
- Leadership development programs for faculty, department chairs, associate deans, deans and administrative professionals
- Mentorship opportunities with experienced academic leaders
- Strategic workshops on topics such as conflict resolution, budgeting, succession planning, and new initiatives
- Promotion of best practices and scholarship in academic leadership
